TEAM PROFILE :  The Maulers began as a group of primarily CN workers, with Bill Gaffney being the main organizing force I believe right from the start, over 20 years ago. Over time quite a few Bell Canada workers joined the team, among them Peter Hamilton, who was co-organizer with Bill from the time I became aware of the group, which was about 20 years ago. They played among themselves and then in the league you started up a few years ago ( I have only ever heard of the league as “ the old Terry Wright League” ), always as a home team, . We still play as a home team in that same league, and now play occasionally in tournaments in Alexandria Bay and now in  the Kingston Oldtimers Memorial Hockey Tournamentyour tournament. Most of us on the team have never played at a high level but enjoy the game and busting each others’ chops before, during and after our games. We also feel we can beat just about any team in beer consumption after a game, especially the ones that beat us on the ice. Oh yeah, especially them.
