Charlie Sherman

1934 - 1990

Charlie Sherman was born and raised in Kingston. he graduated from Kingston Collegiate Vocational Institute.

He played Jr. "B" hockey with the Kingston Vics under the direction of Max Jackson. As a member of the WMCA he spent many years teaching swimming.

His love of hockey continued after marring his wife AnnaMae and raising six children. Charlie played a serious role in his children’s sports activities, coaching and attending endless hours of practices, games and tournaments. He also managed to keep his joy for hockey active by playing in various Oldtimers leagues. He also enjoyed playing golf.

Charlie was a very active individual who liked staying busy. He was health conscious and liked to keep fit and enjoyed jogging long into his fifties. He was always working at home on his household projects to expertly improve or renovate.

A carpenter by trade, Charlie worked for Correctional Services for Canada in the Industries Division for more that 25 years.

Charlie loved family, sports, woodworking, gardening, and cooking. He lived his life with vigor, honesty, and a positive attitude. He was known for his sportsmanship by his friends and fellow players. A loyal and trusted individual who would do anything for anyone.

After a courageous battle with cancer, Charlie passed away on Fathers Day 1990.
